Out of all the guys in the group Ponyboy is in, the person I would most like to be friends with is Sodapop. I would be friends with him because on page two it describes him as understanding, happy-go-lucky, and always grinning. Because Soda has all of these characteristics I think we would get along very well. With his happy-go-luck atitude and my loving to have fun, we would have a very fun time when we are together. I also think that because we are both understanding we would be able to talk to each other and understand what either of us is talking about.
I agree! HE would make a great friend. ~Mrs. Best
Heyy Mitchell!!
You had many good reasons about why you would be good friends with Soda. But, you used your examples in the same sentence as your comparison by repeating it. Like: With his happy-go-luck atitude and my loving to have fun, we would have a very fun time when we are together. You could have said:We would have a good time together because of his happy-go-luck atitude and my loving to have fun, we would have a very fun time when we are together. I can't say what you were thinking because writers have different perspectives. Other than that, I liked your paragraph. Here is my page.

Hello Mitchell!
I really enjoyed your paragraph. I also wrote on that question, but I chose Ponyboy because he is also very kind and happy-go-lucky, but I would like to be friends with Sodapop also. You gave a lot of examples of why you would pick Sodapop.

We all know that the fifth commandment is: Thou shall not kill. With that in mind, tell me what you would be feeling AND what you would do now if you were Johnny at the end of Chapter 4.
If I were in the position of Johnny after he had killed the Soc, I would probably feel really guilty. Having just taken the life of a very young boy I would not be able to stand the thought of what would have happened if the Soc had lived. Also, being the person who caused the pain and suffering of the boys family would make me feel terrible. After killing the Soc I probably would have turned myself into the police. That way I would know that I was receiving the correct punishment for my actions. This would also keep any of my friends who were at the scene out of trouble with the police.
I would have done the same thing. I am glad to hear that you also would have done that. Hiding can only last so long.

Yo. This is Nik R.,
This paragraph is very "buff". It is full of great details and is full of great words like suffering and punishment. But, I think that he should turn himself in.
A. On Pg. 92 it says: Johnny wasn't behaving at all like his old self...That was the first time I saw him without that defeated suspicious look. Explain what the author is inferring.
When I read this line in the book I thought it meant that Johnny was finally glad to be doing something to help someone. Maybe Johnny likes to be in pressure situations and he was in a zone when he and Ponyboy were saving those kids. This probably gave Pony a sense of reassurance and urged him to help save the kids. One thing that is for sure though, is that Johnny was not his regular self when he was saving the little kids, and that surprised Ponyboy.
Very thoughtful Mitchell. I am sure he didn't feel like a greaser at the time either! ~Mrs. Best
A. When we get to know people better, we usually like them more. If that's true, what could we do if we really don't like someone?
If you really do not like someone you can try to see why they are so mean to you. This might get them to open up to you and you can see what is bothering them. You might be able to understand what they are going through, and help them through their struggles. If you can do this that person might just become one of your best friends.
